Listowel Community Centre is a place that is welcoming, accessible, inclusive and affordable to all population groups. Our vision is to be a regional centre of excellence to promote recreation, sport, mental and physical wellbeing for all in the community – a centre which keeps community development at the heart of its ethos, embellishing the spirit of social entrepreneurship. Staff, management, the Board of Directors and members work together with a shared vision in a workplace that all stakeholders can enjoy, grow and develop.
Empowering our community to lead active, healthy and happy lives, our multi-purpose centre provides sports, recreation and leisure opportunities for everyone – utilising emergent technologies like neuro-priming and lifestyle genetics to enhance skill acquisition, tailored training sessions, diet and lifestyle choices, to optimise performance and overall health. At BASE Gym, our coaches are experts in conditioning, strength training and weight management, specialising in correcting movement inefficiencies with guided exercise strategies to ensure you get the maximum value out of each workout. The centre provides our community with a spacious 950+ seater hall which hosts diverse events, performances, entertainment, sport tournaments and more, which has hosted fundraising events for local causes and festival events for Listowel Writers’ Week, National Children’s Literary Festival, Young Adult Bookfest and Listowel Food Fair.
Nestled in a beautiful ‘Green Flag’ accredited park with river walks, woodlands, community orchard, gardens, playgrounds, pitch and putt and tennis courts, Listowel Community Centre has something for all populations – for all ages and abilities, making our heritage town of Listowel a great place to live, work and visit.
