Kirsi Salo: The Weight of Moss and Memories
The Kilmorna Collection in Listowel will welcome artist Kirsi Salo for the opening of The Weight of Moss and Memories, an exhibition of sculptures and drawings exploring memory, texture, material and the quiet beauty of imperfect forms.
Salo’s work moves between the figurative and the abstract, using surface, shape and atmosphere to suggest the traces that time leaves behind. Her sculptures and drawings carry a strong sense of land, decay and transformation, inviting viewers to slow down and look closely at the small marks, rough edges and fragile details that often go unnoticed.
The opening reception will take place in the relaxed setting of The Kilmorna Collection, a new cultural space in Listowel bringing together contemporary art, vinyl records, coffee and conversation. The evening will include wine, music and the opportunity to meet the artist.
Rather than presenting art in a distant or formal way, the exhibition is designed as an intimate encounter with materials, memory and place. It reflects The Kilmorna Collection’s growing role as a local space for artists, collectors, visitors and the wider community to meet around culture.
